Statewide Family Engagement Centers (SFEC)
In 2018, the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) launched statewide Family Engagement Centers in Arizona and Nebraska that provide evidence-based literacy resources and parent education for underserved families. Unite for Literacy was asked to be part of the service provider collective, based on our proven solution for building a two-generational approach to family literacy, The result? Home-school relationships are being strengthened, parents are more engaged in their child’s learning, and home literacy environments are being transformed from book deserts to book gardens.
In Arizona, a total of 131,772 books were distributed and 1,496 families participated.
In Nebraska, a total of 118,008 books were distributed and 1,041 families participated.
